Laxa-Nesjum
|
 |
| „ Hooked into a fish in
Laxá í Nesjum “ |
This is our delicate and
beautiful two rod river in the southeast, close
to the important lobster fishing village of
Höfn. Laxá has a small wild stock that we have
enhanced with an effective smolt releasing
program and has between 100-200 salmon caught
for the short season, plus some sea-trout and
arctic char. While the river does tend to have
spells of low water, the final result is always
very, very good, prompting us to state that few
rivers in Iceland offer better value for money
than does Laxá í Nesjum.
Laxá has a very solid self
catering lodge in the tiny village of Nesjar,
which is practically on the riverbank. This is a
brilliant option for families or small groups of
friends that wish to have things to themselves.
Accommodation:Self-catering
lodge near river. Three twin bedrooms,
one bathroom, kitchen and sitting room. Shops,
petrol and liqour store in nearby village of
Hofn, five minutes’ drive away.

fishing en-route.
